Retrofittable, durability and testability, ease of use, and working out of the box are all part of the design culture that has underpinned our radio telemetry systems. A highly successful philosophy has that has overcome barriers at all levels, gaining unpresented year one adoption ten years ago by the utility sector and subsequently leading to RDN winning several prestigious industry awards.
Currently over 99% of links we deploy operate beyond a distance of 200m (600ft), with some up to 25km. Many are used for mission critical applications such as controlling flood sluice gates, warnings for sewer blockages, the operation of CSO Overflows, controlling pumps, delivering river level data to the EA and Industry and much more.
Our low operating frequencies also deliver advantages with regard to energy consumption. Our transmissions although using a 32-bit address IP address, typically require approximately 1/1000 of the energy of cellular or Wi-Fi to cover greater distances. Not only this permits us to operate the majority of our devices from batteries, but also enables us to power sensors, simplify intrinsic safety compliance and still find enough energy to broadcast automated health messages daily from a device . So, unlike cellular where virtual constant monitoring is virtually impossible due to high cost and power, we are able to offer 24/7 status monitoring, both heartbeat signals and their strength ensuring our equipment is working, delivering data and is ready for action.
All of our systems offer automated self testing and diagnostics as standard. Aside from collecting data, all systems monitor the presence of each device and have the capability of reporting a loss or failure via relays, status indicators or via our software platforms.
Our PC and Data Concentrator solutions go one stage further. Not only do they monitor for signal loss but they also dynamically measure the strength of the signals received and between messages, monitor and report the background noise levels.
Our systems can be setup with multiple receiver locations whereby the same data is processed and displayed locally and/or used for control. This facility can be used to build in redundancy and to enhance coverage effectively creating your own grid of data collection points or data concentrators.
Our systems have been designed to support both mains and battery operation (with the additional option of Solar Power). Key to our battery efficiency is our lean data protocols and the ability to control the application of power to sensors.

We have a range of repeaters and/or high power PMR transmitters that can be deployed to extend our networks to cover either larger areas or to pass signals around obstructions such as hills or mountains.
Our repeaters include a smart store and forward facility that permits them to be daisy chained without repeatedly repeating the last message received. Repeaters can be either solar, battery or preferably mains powered.
With transmit powers up to 25W, we feel that nothing is too great of a challenge.
