Patent Granted – Wastewater Flow Regulator for Smart Networks

We are pleased to announce that the Wastewater Flow Regulator patent has been officially granted. Fully compatible with RDN’s real-time control telemetry and sensor networks, the combination delivers a big step change in how the world can tackle sewer flooding, CSO overflow spills, and plastics in the oceans, slashing cost, installation time, disruption and carbon footprints.

Already the subject of several successful deployments and trials, the Wastewater Flow Regulator or as it is more commonly know SFR (Sewer Flow Regulator) has already been deployed and adopted by one UK leading water and wastewater utilities.

Operable by mains or solar, the system can be installed absolutely anywhere and installed anywhere. An example of the solar kiosk is below which occupies less than 0,5m square of real-estate.

The flow regulator is capable of 100% autonomy as part of a smart network, under the control of network level sensors. Feedback of operational status can be via standard telemetry and gateways, cellular or the Iridium satellite network, or a combination of the both.

Mounting just above the existing drain or sewer invert the Flow Regulator can be installed without the need for stopping or over-pumping the flow.
