Radio Data Networks [RDN] Founder and Managing Director is pleased to announce the company has become part of the Water Industry Telemetry Standards committee known in the Water and Wastewater industry as WITS / DNP3.
RDN and its founders have a long history of developing telemetry, radiocommunications and IoT systems and protocols since the late 1980’s. Some of the protocols they have written are the basis of some of Europe’s largest telemetry and AMR systems.
Currently the business delivers circa 300-million messages for the UK’s Water and Wastewater sector via its Gateways that interface directly to utility infrastructure via existing outstations located at sewage treatment plants and pumping stations. However, there is also demand from some utilities to deliver data directly to their servers or to have a mixture of both local alarms/control and remote monitoring.
Rather than being a passenger on board, RDN has already committed to becoming a proactive member of the standards committee and will be attending the next PSAC meeting due to be held later this month.
