Unprecedented Durability in Service as the FDT Enters its 5th Bathing Season of Service

With the 2017 Bathing season well into full swing we often forget that we are only a Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) spill away from disaster on our beaches!

The FDT, now the mainstay of bathing water EDM monitoring for 5-Utilites has now proven its worth with approaching 5-million combined hours of service, detecting flow and generating over 31 billion messages at 2.5 second intervals concerning EDM yet without a single reported battery failure!

Original MKI FDT still in service since 2012

Introduced in 2012, the FDT was designed to replace the GSM-ultrasonic data loggers with an easy to use, SIM card free, real-time sensing and reporting system that could communicate securely and without the internet via existing infrastructure.

So successful has the FDT been that they can be found installed from Hull on the East Coast, across the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight through to the Isles of Scilly.
