Traffic Lights & Controllers

With the Advent of LED traffic lights it is now possible to install traffic light control almost anywhere without the need to run mains power either on a temporary and permanent basis.

Thanks to our RDNET 1000 receiver’s ultra low power consumption it is possible to run lights from a single battery for months or even years. Combined with IR beams and/or passive IR detectors it is possible to put the lights into the dark state when there is no traffic around and then to wake them up to red and/or green when a vehicles approach is detected.

Used this way the lights can be installed at depots where for example there are deliveries of chemicals and a pollution control valve has to be closed before fuel/chemical transfer commences. Upon arrival at the site the driver is given a red light which only changes to green once the valve is closed and it is safe for the transfer to take place.  

Traffic lights can be supplied for a variety of applications from loading bay interlock through to access control and highways.
